Tourists to Japan Should Pay More? | Two-tier Pricing Coming for Himeji Castle & Japanese Food
Tourists to Japan to Pay More, Two-tier Pricing at Himeji Castle & Restaurants. I’m at Tsukiji Market where a skewer of Wagyu goes for ¥10,000 ($65) which is maybe okay for dollars but for Japanese Yen, feels like a fortune (to me). How about you, what do you think? #japan #tsukiji

don't think the voice messages are a good idea to play on the live stream. The sound is very soft and broken. Maybe cool if the audio quality was be better. But either way, good to see you keep looking for new ways to engage with your audience. <3

Thanks for this. I can’t monitor the audio so I’ll just keep the volume at high. It was an experiment. It was broken, I think the questions (we need questions about Japan) will get better. Every time I update the app, it changes too without saying what exactly was updated 😂 so I have to stay on top of it. It’s good to give it a go and if it fails, try something new.

I think that AI Mayor candidate should be treated seriously.....his agenda especially about corruption makes perfect sense......if we really replace humans with technology like AI they can make decisions fast with impartiality all the time... this is applicable not just in Japan but all over the world

V interesting. A lot of countries are doing this. In the uk, we had polymer plastic notes for last 20 years or so. They last longer and are difficult if not impossible to rip. So last longer, printing money costs money. Also governments are reducing amount of money in circulation. Forcing people into a cashless economy. For Japan this will be felt more than other countries . On the plus side, i love the ¥2000 note. Have to get one of those next trip to japan.

The party that is making fun of the whole system and just renting their numerous representatives' ad spaces is more interesting. Still, in some way it is commendable they are even allowed to that. Also the joker guy, at least on his poster, it says he is opposing welfare for foreigners, which is fare enough by me. Don't know if he actually did anything, John seems unsure too.

    • @onlyinjapanGO

If foreign residents pay taxes, like me - I would hope they’d get the same services and not suspend them because they’re not Japanese. If so, don’t tax foreign residents. But those taking advantage of the system, 100%!! Being “foreign” does not make everyone of the same mind nor do Japanese all have the same mind. That’s why there are many political parties, many menu items in a menu etc.

Any engineer with any skill to their name will be able to tell you machine learning is only as good as its input data. If real life is bad, so will the model be. There are a lot of engineers watching the world treating ChatGPT like some miracle, and laughing all the way to the bank while doing so. ChatGPT isn't impartial. No machine learning is impartial. First off, I would love to try those! Kind of hope they stick around but you're right, those types of fun gimmicks don't last long. And 2nd, that explains maybe as to why when we went on Disney Cruise two years ago, we loved a Chip and Dale decorated door (magnets) so we gifted them a $20 Disney Gift card that they could use on the cruise. (We were going around judging doors and the top 3 won prizes.) Well when we got back from Dinner, we came back to our door covered in some of their Chip and Dale Magnets with a thank you note written in Japanese. Ha! I had no idea. That's cool.
